ABOUT
MISSION
To improve the quality of life for children and families in the United States who are affected by mental illness; to therapeutically address the stigma associated with having a psychiatric disability and to promote awareness, prevention, wellness and recovery in the urban community.
OBJECTIVES
(a) To promote mental health awareness and well being in the urban community through education, public information, prevention programs and training while supporting individuals and families living with mental illness through advocacy, treatment linkage and outreach services.

(b) To provide support and services to help children and families cope when exposed to traumatic events, and families who are directly affected by mental illness and/or chemical addiction, and to those who experience neglect, abuse, mistreatment, malnutrition, as a result of mental illness and substance abuse. Those individuals who lack a stable home environment, or who experience physical or mental hardship as well as any discrimination associated with the illness will be targeted.

(c) To provide supportive education and resources to families or individuals by promoting health and wellness to those who are underprivileged, distressed and disadvantaged.

(d) To provide preventive services, promoting emotional health to those at risk for acquiring mental illness in the future.

(e) To raise awareness and education to the urban public on issues of stigma associated with mental illness and to promote recovery and wellness as it relates to the quality of life of those individuals who suffer from the disease of mental illness.
